Kelly Fisk

Hi There!

So a little about me...I entered my adult life as a mom of two incredible sons. At 43, I met my husband, Harry, and we now share 4 "kids" that span the ages of 17 - 27. They are amazing, challenging, inspiring, and worth it!

I like to think I am an open person with a bit of grit, guts, and determination. I grew up in Michigan and moved to Franklin, TN in 2000. In Franklin, I owned and operated a fitness and nutrition studio for 12 years, focusing on sustainable, long-term health and wellness while indulging in some of my most favorite things - movement, play, and cultivating inclusive community. It was here that I began to understand the mind-body health connection. I observed my clients accessing emotional and mental health through movement, breath, and connection. These dear humans helped cultivate a curiosity in me to know more.

In my personal life, I felt I had met my quota of hardship and traumatic life experience, and quite frankly, I was ready to coast for a bit. Now I've come to appreciate how those experiences grew me personally and prepared me for my current work. The truth is, we are never finished. Experiences and relationships will continue to challenge and shape us. I finished my undergrad as a single mom at age 40 and grad school at age 43. My personal and professional story has given me the ability to understand and connect with others while having the capacity to help them heal and grow.

So now, I get to empower others to understand their value and capacity for greatness. It's the best work - ever. My education and experience has only deepened my belief that we are created to be more than place holders in life. Each one of us is wired for connection and purpose beyond our wildest dreams. I get it, there are times when life seems insurmountable and sometimes we just get stuck. By slowly unwinding the physical, mental, and emotional symptoms you are experiencing, we can make sense of your story, heal deep wounds, and grow your capacity to live. I am dedicated to meet clients in hard places and am honored to help you in your process.

That depends. What I can promise is that if I don't believe we're a good fit or that you might be better served by another practitioner, I will offer referrals or resources.

Absolutely. I cannot and will not tell anyone else what you have told me, or even that you are in therapy with me without your written permission. There are a few ethical exceptions to confidentiality that we will cover during your intake.

There are many therapy benefits, but some of the most common ones include improved mental and emotional well-being, increased self-awareness and insight, better coping skills, and improved relationships. Therapy can also help people learn more about themselves and understand and resolve personal issues.

My degreed background is in Family Systems. This approach observes the personality, emotions, and behaviors of a grown individual in the context of their family of origin. Within this framework, I explore the best therapeutic interventions to help each client identify and heal core issues, overcome barriers, and actualize optimal health.

The more you put in to therapy, the more you'll get out of it by being motivated and ready to work! You can invest in your process by being open-minded, flexible, and adaptable to therapeutic methods. The ability to be introspective, contemplative, and curious about yourself are also important skills that will continue to develop.

Payment information is securely stored in the client portal and charged at the time of service. I do not accept insurance but can provide a receipt or superbill for self-filing.
